About Me
Welcome to Holding Hope, I am glad you are here. My name is Tracy Johnston, and I am the clinic director and psychotherapist at Holding Hope Psychotherapy and Counselling services. In my 30 years of supporting all age groups, I have found that we all have a desire to grow, learn and be the best versions of ourselves.
I am a graduate of Trent University and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology as well as, a Social Service Worker Diploma from Fleming College. I have a Master’s in Art Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and I am a Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I am a member with the Canadian Counselling Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
My approach to therapy is holistic, I believe in working collaboratively with clients to create goals and treatments that reflect the strengths and needs of each client. I use an integrated approach that includes EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Ego State therapy. My goal is to offer a space that encourages hope, healing, and growth in those I support. In addition, I have had many lived experiences including career transitions, interpersonal relationships, health concerns, and the grief and loss of close relationships and roles.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Getting out in nature snowmobiling, walking, campfires, or simply having friendly chats on the front porch. I am an avid reader and enjoy constantly challenging and learning new things.
